We are looking for a select number of artists to act as Art Director for Calypson Studios. This is an on-location job in New York City, NY. As art director, your duties are to oversee and direct small creation teams. You would ensure quality to all art being produced and would organise all assets for delivery. You must meet the following requirements

Requirements:

• Experience in at least 5 past commercial titles
• Excellent knowledge and practice of Pixel-Art concepts
• Excellent traditional skills
• Strong animation ability
• Can lead and maintain teams
• Can handle tight deadlines
• Is avaliable to work full time, 40 hours per week, on location

Calypson Studios is always on the lookout for more pixel artists! We are looking for talented individuals who can work freelance, via the web, on many titles to come. Why work with us? The stress of maintaining work for a freelance artist can be daunting. Here at Calypson Studios, we send out a mailing to our catalog of artists whenever there is a new project in development. In short, we find the work FOR YOU! At any given time, our studio is working on several projects and have new ones constantly flowing in. Simply apply for the job. Once accepted you will be updated with any new projects on the horizon.

Current Project:

We are looking for several pixel artists that can meet the following requirements to work on an Electronic Handheld Toy. This would entail limited palette pixel art on a color LCD display. For examples of other products that are similar, go to www.miuchiz.com. This is paid work. We cannot disclose more details at this time.

Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge and practice of Pixel-Art concepts
• Excellent traditional skills (cartoonist examples preferably)
• Shows strong animation ability
• Can handle tight deadlines
• (preferable) experience in past titles or games
• Is avaliable to work part time, 30 hours per week (for at least the next two months)

Applicants with experience is preferred, but If you feel you've got what it takes and can't quite break into the industry - this job may be the one for you.
